So, taking a break from painting boccage, I saw these two 6x6 cork tiles I had from a previous project and thought they could be put to better use. Took some sheetrock mud spread it on, and used a bit of GW sprue to drag in some plowmarks. Sprinkled a bit of fine grain (sugar cookie sugar) talus on to give a bit of texture, primed and painted. They match up nicely with my boccage given that they are all 6 inch to a side. Anyway, not 100% sure how they will hold up. The backing is flexible and the mud isnt so I wouldn't be surprised with some breakage. I think when I do this again I iwll use liquid nails instead of mud as it has more give.

FYI, cork is usually a horrible basing material for large terrain pieces because not only does it give, it is prone to breakage. Personally I'd recommend just using hardboard (MDF) as it is much more durable. JMO though.

That is my suspicion as well. Just had them handy and was too lazy to go to the garage and cut some hardboard.
